About

“Each painting is a conscious creation that feeds my soul. Paint on the brush and strokes on the canvas are just as important to me as air in my lungs and water to drink. The creation process is like planting a seed — something beautiful grows out of that initial spark of inspiration, and it makes people stop, look, and connect with the world around them.”
-Vanessa Piche
For Vanessa Piche (pronounced pee-shay), painting is as essential as air and water.
Over the past decade, Vanessa has become widely known for her oil paintings and fine art prints of quintessential New England summer scenes — vessels gliding across harbors, sunlit marshes, glowing sunsets, and nature-scapes that capture the fleeting essence of place. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards and sought after by collectors across the country.
Her art has also reached wider audiences through brand collaborations with Pottery Barn, Anthropologie, Annie Selke, and Greggs Restaurants, and by being licensed for television and film — appearing in Netflix’s House of Cardsand Stephen King’s Doctor Sleep. These milestones reflect not only the quality of her work but also its ability to resonate with people across settings, from private homes to major productions.
Today, Vanessa lives and works on her family’s historic Indiana farm, where she continues her exploration of place and memory. After years of coastal inspiration, her creative spark now finds new life in the red barns, gravel lanes, and animals that surround her. Whether sketching her horses and chickens or creating larger studio pieces, she views each brushstroke as a thread connecting past and present.
In addition to her fine art, Vanessa is also the writer and illustrator of The Adventures of Dune + Nash — a children’s picture book series that celebrates imagination, storytelling, and the joy of interactive play.
Through all of her work — paintings, prints, or books — Vanessa’s goal is to help others feel more connected to the places and stories that shape their lives.
